Brenda Kay Holloman, 77, of Carmi, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital, in McLeansboro, Illinois. She was born on Friday, April 30, 1948, in Carmi, the daughter of Dearl and Hilda (Browning) Williams. Kay married William Lee “Bill” Holloman on May 1, 1964, and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2015. She retired from Carmi White County Hospital after 32 years. Kay then enjoyed working for many years at Joyful Start Daycare in Carmi, as the cook, where many kids fell in love with her cheesy peas. She was a member of Ashland Christian Church in Mill Shoals. Kay loved her dogs, Lucy and Annabelle. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Kay is survived by her children, William Holloman, Jr. of Carmi, IL., Rickie (Jeff) Pollard of Carmi, IL., Chris (David) Hertzing of Carmi, IL. and Kelly (Lisa) Holloman of Carmi, IL.; grandchildren, Dustin Holloman, Jimmy Sexton, Brooke (Brad) Harrison, Shelby (Bobbi) Pollard, Jordan Hertzing, Alyssa Dartt, Alexis Switzer, Gavin (Carlie Vaught) Holloman, Grayley Holloman, Wrigley Holloman and Everleigh Holloman; great-grandchildren, Wrinley Harrison and Walter Pollard; siblings, Michael Williams, Vonda (Ron) Bell and Dearl Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Holloman and her parents
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in the chapel of Roberts and Cook Funeral Service, 101 Edgewood Lane, Carmi, Illinois, with Braden Willis officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven, Illinois. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the funeral chapel. Roberts and Cook Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
