FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS RETURN TO REND LAKE WITH TWO-NIGHT CELEBRATION

By Mark Wells Mar 26, 2026 | 3:16 AM

Fireworks will once again light up the sky at Rend Lake this summer as the 2026 Rend Lake Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration is set for July 3rd and July 4th at the Rend Lake Golf Resort, located along Route 154 near Benton.

This event marks the long-awaited return of a Fourth of July celebration at the lake, which has not taken place in several years due to previous volunteer shortages and funding challenges. The festivities are free and family-friendly, featuring live music, food trucks, kids’ activities, and a rodeo on both nights. The highlight of the weekend will be the fireworks show, planned for July 3rd.

Local organizations are working together to bring the celebration back to the area, including the Rend Lake Conservancy District, the cities of Benton and Sesser, the Rend Lake Area Tourism Council, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

In addition to the fireworks, attendees can enjoy rodeo events, music, and food trucks throughout both evenings, including Independence Day itself. Organizers are also seeking sponsorships to support the event and ensure its future. Sponsorship commitments must be received by May 1st.

For more information on sponsorship opportunities, contact the Rend Lake Conservancy District at 618-439-4321 or email gm@rendlake.org.
