The Board of Trustees of the Illinois Eastern Community College (IECC) District met Tuesday night at Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel for their regular meeting, addressing key financial, academic, and personnel matters. Board members unanimously approved a resolution to formally accept the Fiscal Year 2025 audit prepared by Martin Hood PLLC. The district received a clean and unmodified audit opinion, which will now be submitted to the Illinois Community College Board.
In other business, trustees adopted the proposed 2027-2029 Academic Calendar. The Board also approved the Bid Committee’s recommendations, awarding Southwestern Travel Group $55,458 for the TRIO Upward Bound Education Trip and Bruce Unterbrink Construction, Inc., of Greenville, $1,345,000 for science lab renovations at Olney Central College’s Wattleworth Hall.
Personnel actions included the hiring of David Murphy as Custodian at Olney Central College effective March 30th, and Kera Vinson as Head Volleyball Coach & Student Life Coordinator at Frontier Community College, effective May 26th. Retirement ratifications were accepted for Tammie Bohnhoff, Math Instructor at Olney Central College effective August 5th; Rena Gower, Director of Learning Commons at Lincoln Trail College effective April 3rd; and Robert Conn, Dean of Instruction at Wabash Valley College effective March 6th. The Board also approved the reemployment of Bargaining Unit Faculty for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21st at 6:15 p.m. at Frontier Community College.
