ILLINOIS GAS PRICES RISE TO $4.23 PER GALLON, UP NEARLY 23% FROM LAST YEAR

According to data compiled by Stacker from AAA as of March 27th, Illinois drivers are seeing gas prices climb to an average of $4.23 per gallon. This marks an increase of $0.11 from last week (+2.7%) and a significant jump of $0.79 over the past year (+22.8%). The state’s record high for gas prices was $5.56 set on June 13, 2022.

Diesel prices are also on the rise, averaging $5.16 per gallon—up $0.12 from last week (+2.3%) and $1.57 higher than this time last year (+43.7%). The highest recorded diesel price in Illinois was $5.82 on June 25, 2022.

STATES WITH THE LEAST EXPENSIVE GAS:

Oklahoma: $3.28

Nebraska: $3.37

Arkansas: $3.39

As Illinois motorists continue to see higher fuel costs, neighboring states like Kansas, Oklahoma, and Iowa are experiencing much lower prices at the pump.
