Fairfield was led by Logan Tullis who went 1-3 with a Triple and 2 RBI’s and Caleb King who went 2-3. Breychan Kovacich picked up the win for the Mules going 3 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits with 1 strikeout.

Olney–Richland County 22, Cisne 0 (4 Innings)
Cisne was led by Hagen Howard who went 1-2 with a Stolen Base. Howard also picked the loss for the Runnin’ Lions going 2/3 of an inning giving up 9 runs on 5 hits.

On Tuesday, the Fairfield Mules Boys Tennis team traveled to Flora for a conference matchup. The Mules fell to Flora by a score of 7-2. Fairfield picked up Singles victories from Jed Wellen and Tomas Cidoncha.

The Cardinals earned a series win in style after walking-off the Mets 2-1 in extras from St. Louis. Masyn Winn drove-in the game-winning run with an infield single in the 11th inning. Nolan Gorman also tallied an RBI, while Matthew Liberatore gave up the lone run over his six-inning start. The Cardinals improved to 4-and-2. They visit the Tigers tomorrow.

The Cubs clinched their three-game series against the Angels after a 6-2 win from Wrigley Field. Matthew Boyd gave up an earned run and struck out 10 batters over five-plus innings. Matt Shaw drove-in a pair of runs, while Nico Hoerner tallied three hits. The Northsiders improved to 3-and-3. They visit the Guardians tomorrow.

The Chicago White Sox had just three hits during a 10-0 loss to the Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park. Shane Smith was charged with his second loss of the season after surrendering seven earned runs and one unearned run on eight hits in three innings. The Southsiders dropped to 1-and-5. The White Sox’s home opener today has been postponed, so Chicago will host Toronto tomorrow.

The St. Louis Blues picked up a point during a 2-1 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto-dot-com Arena. Robert Thomas tied the game at one with under four minutes left in regulation, but Trevor Moore lit the lamp for L.A. in the second minute of OT. The Blues are four points out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Jimmy Snuggerud is earning recognition across the NHL. The Blues right wing was named the NHL Rookie of the Month yesterday. Snuggerud had seven goals and eight assists in 14 games during March. St. Louis went 10-2-and-2 during the month. Snuggerud has 17 goals and 22 assists this season. He’ll lead the Blues into battle against Anaheim tomorrow night.

The Chicago Blackhawks aim to avoid a fifth straight loss when they visit the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place tonight. The Hawks are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets at home on Tuesday. Chicago is in last place in the Central Division with 68 points. Tonight’s game starts at 8:00PM.

Elsewhere, the Bears are going to make a decision on where they’ll build their new stadium by late spring, Rams receiver Puka Nacua [[ POO-kah nah-KOO-ah ]] checked in to rehab, projected Number-1 overall draft pick Fernando Mendoza impressed at Indiana’s pro day, and an ESPN article outlined last year’s friction between Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, head coach Nick Sirianni and former offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.

(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua [[ POO-kah nah-KOO-ah ]] has checked himself into rehab. The receiver’s attorney told The California Post that his client has been in rehab for a “substantial” period of time before a recent lawsuit filed against him alleged he had made an unprovoked antisemitic remark and bit a woman on the shoulder. Nacua’s attorney said that the 24-year-old is in rehab in an attempt to improve his overall behavior in every aspect of his life. He is expected to be with the Rams for the start of organized team activities later this offseason.

(Cincinnati, OH) — A pitcher for the Reds is on the mend. Nick Lodolo is expected to make a rehab start on Thursday with Single-A Daytona. The team wants to see the 28-year-old throw around 60 pitches before giving him the green light to rejoin the big-league rotation. Lodolo is recovering from a blister on his finger. He went 9-and-8 last season with a 3.33 ERA in more than 156 innings.

(Pittsburgh, PA) — The Pirates are trying to nail down one of their promising players to a long-term deal. ESPN reports the team is “deep into negotiations” with top prospect Konnor Griffin. The sides are making cases on what an “appropriate” deal would be for the 19-year-old shortstop. Griffin could be looking at a similar contract to Corbin Carroll, who signed an eight-year deal worth just over 110-million dollars with the Diamondbacks in 2023.

(Lawrence, KS) — The Kansas Jayhawks will have their two-time national champion head coach back on the sidelines next season. Bill Self announced Wednesday that he will return as the men’s head basketball coach for the 2026-27 season. Self said in a statement that he remains focused and committed to the program and competing for another national title. The 63-year-old made the announcement more than a week after he said he would be contemplating his coaching future due to multiple health-related issues he has faced in recent years.

(Undated) — The Liberty are bringing back a couple of their stars. Two-time WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart revealed on her podcast that she has decided to re-sign with the Libs. Former first overall pick Sabrina Ionescu also announced Wednesday that she’s staying with New York. The duo helped the Libs win the WNBA championship in 2024. New York opens the regular season when it hosts the Connecticut Sun on May 8th.

(San Antonio, TX) — Brian Harman will be looking to defend his title at the Valero Texas Open. Harman won last year’s tournament by three strokes after finishing atop the leaderboard at nine under par. The 39-year-old will be alongside Sepp Straka and Billy Horschel for the first and second rounds. Lanto Griffin, Kevin Streelman and Max McGreevy will be among the first group of players teeing off round one from TPC San Antonio.
