TEN STUDENTS AWARDED EDWARDS COUNTY YOUNG LEADER SCHOLARSHIPS

The Edwards County Farm Bureau Young Leader Committee has announced the recipients of its 2026 Young Leader scholarships, recognizing ten outstanding students for their achievements and commitment to leadership in agriculture.

This year’s scholarship winners are Cali Bunting, JW Simms-Reisner, Gabe Wyatt, Cheyenne Duncan, Parker Biggs, Shiloh Coles, Chloe Iles, Chase Shelton, Owen Lynch, and Abby Gill. Collectively, the Young Leaders awarded $4,000 to these promising individuals.

The Young Leaders scholarship is an annual honor given to students who will be freshmen or sophomores in college during the upcoming fall semester. Eligibility requires active involvement in 4-H and/or FFA throughout high school, graduation from Edwards County High School or having resided in Edwards County for the past four years. Recipients are selected based on personal accomplishments, leadership skills, and a personal interview focused on the impact 4-H and FFA have had on their lives.

This year’s honorees include:

Cali Bunting, daughter of Jeff & Valerie Bunting of rural Albion

JW Simms-Reisner, son of Amanda Simms of Ellery

Gabe Wyatt, son of Michelle & Jeremy Wyatt of rural West Salem

Cheyenne Duncan, daughter of Jeff & Heather Duncan of rural Albion

Parker Biggs, daughter of Jason & Kelli Biggs of rural Albion

Shiloh Coles, daughter of Todd & Wendy Coles of rural Albion

Chloe Iles, daughter of George David & Bev Iles of rural Albion

Chase Shelton, son of Greg & Abby Shelton of rural Albion

Owen Lynch, son of Matt & Cassie Lynch of rural West Salem

Abby Gill, daughter of Cory & Ronika Gill of Albion
