Warmer weather is in the forecast the next few days, and possibly the next few weeks. Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky, say high temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid 80s starting Sunday and continuing through Friday. Rain chances return to the forecast late Sunday night and run through Friday.
The six to ten day and 8 to 14 day outlooks, running through April 24th, also indicate above normal temperatures and precipitation expected. The latest three-to-four week outlook, running from April 25th through May 8th, shows equal chances for above or below normal temperatures and precipitation.
The latest U.S. Drought Monitor Map shows only Moderate Drought conditions from southern Wayne County into far-southern Illinois and Abnormally Dry conditions in most of central Illinois.
