The Amy Schulz Child Advocacy Center is celebrating the dedication of four Wayne County law enforcement officers who recently completed the intensive ChildFirst forensic interview training. The officers—Det. Kody Moore and Cpl. Josh Manahan of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, along with Det. Caleb Koker and Det. Dane Horton of the Fairfield Police Department—sought out this specialized certification to deepen their understanding of child-focused forensic interviewing and further integrate with the Child Advocacy Center’s multidisciplinary team (MDT) model.

The week-long ChildFirst training equips participants with the best practices for conducting forensic interviews with child victims, ensuring that interviews are effective, sensitive, and legally sound. By achieving this certification, these officers strengthen the local partnership between law enforcement and The Amy Center, ultimately providing the best chance at justice for victimized children through improved communication, investigation, and prosecution.

The Amy Schulz Child Advocacy Center expressed gratitude and pride for the officers’ commitment to excellence and teamwork, which will enhance the ability to collaboratively serve and protect local children.
