A Grayville man appeared in court for his first appearance Tuesday following his arrest on Monday morning by local authorities. Police Chief Mason Siegel was dispatched to the Road Ranger just before 11 a.m. in response to a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, Chief Siegel was met by several employees and observed 49-year-old Brian Allender attempting to leave the storefront.

According to police, a female employee reported that while she was in the bathroom, Allender held his phone under the stall in an attempt to record her. Allender allegedly claimed that he had deleted the videos. Based on probable cause, Chief Siegel placed Allender under arrest.

Allender has been charged with Unauthorized Recording. Police have seized his phone and are seeking a search warrant to collect further evidence. While in custody, Allender reportedly provided the passcode to his device voluntarily.
