NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WARNS OF SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE MONDAY

By Mark Wells Apr 24, 2026 | 6:00 AM

The National Weather Service reports that today (Friday) will bring mostly cloudy skies and a chance for scattered morning thunderstorms, with high temperatures reaching the low 70s. As we move into the weekend, residents across the Tri-State area can expect partly sunny to mostly cloudy conditions, with temperatures generally climbing into the upper 70s.

The primary concern, however, centers on Monday, when conditions appear favorable for severe thunderstorms throughout the region. Forecasters say a robust weather system moving in from the western United States will create a volatile atmosphere, marked by high moisture and instability.

National Weather Service officials are closely monitoring the potential for very large hail and tornadoes, particularly during the late afternoon on Monday as they will be actively tracking a significant weather situation.

Residents are urged to stay informed and monitor local forecasts as Monday approaches.
