The Wayne City High School Scholarship Foundation is inviting the community to its annual fundraiser on Sunday at 11 a.m. The event will be held at the Wayne City Community Building and aims to raise essential funds to support scholarships for local students.
Guests are encouraged to enjoy a meal offered by donation, with community members providing a variety of homemade desserts. Organizers ask that desserts be brought to the community building after 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The day’s festivities will feature an auction beginning at 12:30 p.m., with an exciting selection of items up for bid. Those attending will have the opportunity to win prizes such as gift cards to local favorites like La Fuente, Cracker Barrel, and Pizza Hut in Mt. Vernon, as well as Harbor Freight and Rural King. Additional auction highlights include $200 Ray Ban sunglasses, NuBowl Lanes bowling party packages, restaurant gift cards from El Rancherito, Casa Raya, and Bare Chophouse, a Cardinals lunch box, a kids’ ride-on toy truck, and handcrafted items like a handmade American flag, a metal semi truck, and a purse clutch.
A special highlight of the event is the “Rifle Raffle,” where participants can purchase tickets for $5 each or five for $20 for a chance to win a Henry Golden Boy .22 Rifle or a $500 cash prize. The raffle drawing will take place on April 26th, and the rifle winner must present a valid firearms card.
All proceeds from this event will directly benefit the WCHS Scholarship Foundation, helping to provide educational opportunities and support for Wayne City’s students.
