An employee was seriously injured following an incident last Wednesday afternoon at the Continental Tire plant in Mount Vernon.
Company officials say the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. inside the main plant. The facility’s safety team responded, and emergency medical services were called to the scene.
The employee was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released the individual’s identity.
The worker suffered serious injuries, though no additional details about the extent of those injuries have been confirmed.
Company officials said they are cooperating with all parties as the investigation continues.
“Continental highly values the safety and health of both its own and external employees; therefore, strict regulations are in place to prevent accidents on our premises,” the company said in a statement.
