The St. Louis Cardinals failed to complete a weekend sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers following a 4-1 loss at Busch Stadium. Alec Burleson drove in the Cardinals only run in the bottom of the eighth, while Dustin May was charged with the loss after surrendering three runs on seven hits in six innings against his former club. The Cardinals dropped to 20-and-14. They send Kyle Leahy to the mound against the Brewers tonight.

The Cubs beat the Diamondbacks 8-4 to complete a home sweep. Michael Busch went two-for-three with four RBIs to lead Chicago, while Moises Ballesteros and Carson Kelly drove in two runs each. Matthew Boyd allowed two runs over six innings to pick up the win. The Cubs have won five straight games to improve to 22-and-12 this season. They send Edward Cabrera to the mound against Cincinnati tonight.

The game was tied at three in the eighth inning before Xander Bogaerts hit a go-ahead single for the Padres. Tyler Davis was charged with his first loss in relief, while Drew Romo and Derek Hill both homered in the losing effort. The Southsiders dropped to 16-and-18. Davis Martin starts for Chicago against the Angels tonight.

(St. Louis, MO) — The St. Louis Blues are locking down one of their top forwards. St. Louis inked Dylan Holloway to a five-year extension worth 38.75-million dollars over the weekend. Holloway has spent the past two seasons with the Blues after beginning his career in Edmonton. The 24-year-old scored 22 points and tallied 29 assists in 59 games last year.

(Atlanta, GA) — The Braves are hoping one of their best players will come back soon. The team placed Ronald Acuna Jr. on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring. The 2023 National League MVP got hurt in Saturday’s game against the Rockies while running the bases. Acuna has played in about 140 games over the past two seasons after suffering a torn ACL in 2024.

(Baton Rouge, LA) — The top tight end in the Class of 2027 is planning on heading to Death Valley. Four-star recruit Ahmad Hudson announced his commitment to LSU on Sunday. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Ruston, Louisiana, native chose the Tigers over other finalist Nebraska. Hudson is ESPN’s 22nd-ranked overall prospect in the cycle. He joins defensive end Jaiden Bryant, quarterback Peyton Houston and wide receivers Braylon Calais and Ah’mari Stevens as members of the program’s 2027 class.

(Los Angeles, CA) — UCLA has added a big-time recruit to their 2027 class. Three-star running back Deuce Jones-Drew is following in his father’s footsteps after he announced his commitment to the Bruins on Sunday. The son of three-time NFL Pro Bowler Maurice Jones-Drew chose UCLA over Arizona and Cal following a visit this past weekend. He is set to enter his senior year at California’s De La Salle High School this fall.

Ekezie is currently a top-five recruit in the 2027 recruiting class, but plans to reclassify to be on campus this fall. (Miami, FL) — Cameron Young is celebrating his third career victory after finishing atop the leaderboard at the Cadillac Championship from Trump National Doral. Young cleared the field by six strokes at 19 under par to become the second wire-to-wire winner on Tour this season. Scottie Scheffler finished in second at 13 under and Ben Griffin was third at 12 under par. Adam Scott, Sepp Straka and Si Woo Kim tied for fourth at 11 under.

(Fort Worth, TX) — Chase Elliott is taking home the checkered flag in the Wurth 400. The driver of the Number-9 car held off Denny Hamlin to secure a victory at Texas Motor Speedway.
