Construction of the $5.6 million Bobcat Athletic Center on the campus of Frontier Community College reached a significant milestone last week as crews began installing steel beams for the new facility.
Bevis Construction is serving as the project contractor. The athletic center is expected to be substantially completed by October.
The new facility will include a gymnasium featuring an NJCAA-regulation volleyball and basketball court, along with seating for up to 320 spectators. Plans also call for a strength and conditioning fitness area, a community-accessible fitness center, concession space, offices for head coaches, a conference room, and a home locker room. A multi-use room will serve as both a visitor locker room and instructional space.
College officials say naming and sponsorship opportunities are currently available. Donations can be made at various levels, ranging from $500 “Friends of the Foundation” gifts up to $100,000 for a “Bobcat Pride Donor” designation.
