A Flora school bus carrying children was involved in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon west of Rinard.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 2150 North and County Highway 25.
Authorities say 68-year-old Steve R. Wilson of Ingraham was driving a 2025 Thomas school bus eastbound on County Road 2150 North and attempted to cross Highway 25. The bus was struck by a northbound 2003 Chevrolet 1500 pickup driven by 60-year-old Tamara S. Haven of Flora.
At least four children were on the bus at the time of the crash. Deputies reported that no injuries were sustained by the children or the bus driver. Haven also reported no injuries and declined ambulance transport at the scene.
Wilson was cited by deputies for disobeying a traffic control device.
