USDA OFFERS ASSISTANCE TO ILLINOIS FARMERS RECOVERING FROM SEVERE WEATHER DAMAGE

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is offering both technical and financial assistance to help Illinois farmers recover from recent severe weather events, including tornadoes, straight-line winds, and hail.

Producers affected by the storms are encouraged to contact their local USDA Service Center to report losses and learn about available recovery programs. Assistance may cover a range of impacts, including damage to crops, farmland, livestock, and farm infrastructure.

Farmers can also work through the Farm Service Agency, which administers various disaster relief programs and farm loan options designed to help producers recover and stabilize operations.

Officials stress that time limits apply for many programs and claims, so farmers are urged to contact their local FSA office as soon as possible to ensure eligibility and avoid missing important deadlines.
