Thermos is recalling more than eight million stainless steel food jars and beverage containers following reports of serious customer injuries, including lacerations and cases of permanent vision loss.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall involves Stainless King Food Jars and Sportsman Food and Beverage Bottles sold between March 2008 and July 2024. Officials say the hazard occurs when the container’s stopper can forcefully eject, striking users in the face.
The affected products were sold at major retailers including Walmart, Target, Amazon and through Thermos’ website in a variety of colors featuring the Thermos trademark.
Consumers are being urged to stop using the recalled products immediately due to the risk of serious injury.
