Rebecca Lynn Cartmill, 69, of Carmi, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on Sunday, August 5, 1956, in Carmi, Illinois, the daughter of Delbert and Dorothy (Churchwell) Buckner. Becky married Bruce Cartmill on May 15, 1976. And together they shared over 34 years of marriage before his passing on April 16, 2010. She enjoyed painting and crafting. Becky was an avid classic movie enthusiast. She loved movies like the Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind. Most of all, Becky loved spending time with her family.
Becky is survived by her children, Bruce Anderson Roe (Jamie) Cartmill and James Robert (Rosa) Cartmill; grandchildren, Amy South, Austin Cartmill, Libby Cartmill, Alex Palmer, Kesha Tuttle, Anderson Cartmill, Saphira Cartmill, Arya Cartmill, Bruce Cartmill, Lissa Cartmill and Chase Cartmill; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Gage, Rowan and Rylee; a sister, Linda Hunt; two nieces, Christina Turner and Denise Helton; and a nephew, Josh Hunt.
In addition to her husband, Bruce Cartmill, Becky was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Andy Buckner.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made in Becky’s memory to Roberts and Cook Funeral Service to assist the family with final expenses.
