LEGENDARY COACH RON FELLING’S FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS ANNOUNCED

Funeral arrangements have been announced for legendary Lawrenceville basketball coach Ron Felling, who passed away Tuesday, May 5th, in Bloomington, Indiana.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST at The Funeral Chapel, located at 3000 E. 3rd Street, Bloomington, Indiana.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 15th at 2:00 p.m.at Central Christian Church in Lawrenceville. Prior to the service, visitation at the church is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Lawrenceville City Cemetery.

Felling leaves behind one of the most remarkable coaching legacies in Illinois high school basketball history. During his 16 seasons as Lawrenceville’s head basketball coach, he compiled an impressive 388-77 record, leading the Indians to four IHSA state championships—including two consecutive undefeated state title seasons in 1982 and 1983.

After his historic run at Lawrenceville, Felling spent 14 years as an assistant coach under Bobby Knight at Indiana University, where he helped guide the Hoosiers to the 1987 NCAA National Championship and multiple Big Ten titles.
