NORTH WAYNE UNIT 200 BOARD TO MEET WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT CISNE MIDDLE SCHOOL

The North Wayne Community Unit School District #200 Board of Education will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Cisne Middle School. Board members are expected to consider several personnel, curriculum, transportation, and student program items during the meeting.
Among items on the consent agenda are approval of minutes from the April 15th regular meeting and May 8th special meeting, approval of leave requests, approval of FMLA leave for two employees, acceptance of a retirement letter from Troy Helm effective May 29th and approval of a $500 donation from Wabash Communications to the CHS FFA program. Financial items include approval of bills, the treasurer’s report, and an income review.

During non-agenda items, Greg Keyser is expected to discuss the possibility of establishing agricultural education classes at Cisne Middle School. Superintendent reports and committee updates on transportation and policy are also scheduled. Old business on the agenda includes discussion of substitute bus driver pay and consideration of a new math curriculum.

Under new business, the board will consider overnight trips for FFA students attending an officers retreat May 26th-27th and the state convention June 9th-11th. Additional agenda items include the annual FFA report, purchase of a newer district work and transportation truck, registration dates for the 2026-27 school year, renewal of the CEP breakfast and lunch program, and proposed student handbook changes. The board may also enter executive session to discuss personnel matters, including athletic director positions, one-on-one aides for two elementary students, the CMS assistant softball coaching position, and the superintendent’s contract.
