A Mount Vernon man has died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday night on Illinois Highway 148 north of East Redwood Road.
Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Bullard reported that deputies responded to the scene at approximately 9:50 p.m. following a call about a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. Authorities say a Ford F-150 pickup truck, driven by Enoch S. Albright, 27, of Murphysboro, was traveling on IL-148 when it struck the victim, identified as Johnathan M. Hatch, 40, of Mount Vernon.
Illinois State Police were called to the scene to assist with crash reconstruction. No further information about the investigation has been released at this time.
