The Woodlawn Community Unit School District 209 has announced that an employee has been placed on administrative leave while an ongoing investigation is conducted.
In a statement released to the school community Thursday afternoon, district officials said they were recently made aware of a pending investigation involving one of the district’s employees. The identity of the employee and details regarding the nature of the investigation have not been disclosed.
“We recognize that situations like this can cause concern among our students, families, and staff, and we want to reassure our community that student safety and well-being remain our top priority,” the district said in its statement.
District officials emphasized their full cooperation with authorities throughout the investigation. They stated, “The employee has been placed on administrative leave in accordance with our internal policies while the investigation proceeds.”
The district added that it remains committed to maintaining “a safe and respectful educational environment for all staff and students” as the investigation continues.
Citing the active status of the investigation, district officials said no further comments will be provided at this time.
