The Chicago White Sox surrendered three runs in the top of the 11th inning during a 5-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins at Rate Field. Munetaka Murakami hit a two-run, game-tying home run in the bottom of the eighth to force extras before Tyler Davis allowed a three-run double in the 11th. Davis was charged with his second loss of the season. The Southsiders remain in second place in the AL Central at 27-and-27. They send Davis Martin to the mound against Minnesota tonight. In other club news, the Sox placed starting pitcher Noah Schultz on the injured list yesterday.

The St. Louis Cardinals had just seven hits during a 6-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field. The Cardinals went 0-for-five with runners in scoring position and left eight runners on base. Michael McGreevy was charged with his fourth loss after allowing five runs on seven hits in four frames. St. Louis remains in second place in the NL Central with a 29-and-24 record. Dustin May starts for the Cardinals against the Brewers this afternoon. First pitch is at 12:40pm. The St. Louis Cardinals are making some roster moves. The team sent left-handed pitcher Brycen Mautz down to Triple-A Memphis yesterday. Mautz made his MLB debut on Monday, giving up two runs on four hits in three innings out of the bullpen. Right-hander Ryan Fernandez was called up to St. Louis in a corresponding move.

The Chicago Cubs are on a ten-game losing streak following a 12-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. The Northsiders allowed five runs in the bottom of the first and trailed the rest of the way. Ian Happ drove in Chicago’s only run, while Jordan Wicks was charged with the loss after surrendering eight runs on nine hits in four-and-a-third frames. The Cubs are tied for fourth place in the NL Central with a 29-and-26 record. They send Jameson Taillon to the mound against Pittsburgh tonight.

New York advanced to its first NBA Finals since 1999 after sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

(Undated) — The Celtics’ bench boss has been recognized for a stellar regular season. Joe Mazzulla was named the NBA Coach of the Year on Tuesday. Mazzulla led the Celtics to the second seed in the Eastern Conference after finishing with 56 wins despite not having star Jayson Tatum for the majority of the year. The 37-year-old is the youngest winner of the award since Phil Jackson in 1975. He is the fourth coach in franchise history to earn the honor, joining Red Auerbach, Tommy Heinsohn and Bill Fitch.

(Cleveland, OH) — The Cavaliers will retain Kenny Atkinson as their coach for next season. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Tuesday that support for Atkinson remains high within the organization despite Cleveland’s sweep at the hands of the New York Knicks. The Cavs have gone 116-and-48 under Atkinson the past two seasons, but are just 14-and-18 in the playoffs.

(Hobart, WI) — Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs is facing domestic violence charges. The Hobart/Lawrence, Wisconsin Police Department says officers responded to a disturbance complaint around 8:30 Saturday morning. Jacobs was booked into the Brown County jail Tuesday on several charges including strangulation and suffocation and battery.

>>Chargers Sign James To Record-Setting Extension

(Costa Mesa, CA) — The Chargers are making their star safety the highest-paid at his position for the second time in his career. Los Angeles is signing Derwin James Jr. to a three-year, 75.6-million-dollar contract extension. The deal includes 57.5-million-dollars guaranteed for the five-time Pro Bowler. James was set to enter the final year of a four-year extension that made him the highest-paid safety in NFL history in 2022. The 29-year-old finished last season with 94 tackles and three interceptions.

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Salt Lake City is reportedly the frontrunner among western cities to score an expansion baseball team. USA Today says the pair of MLB expansion teams are likely to land in Nashville and Salt Lake City. The expansion teams will probably be awarded by 2029. Other cities in the West that are trying to land a team include Sacramento, Portland and Vancouver, British Columbia.

(Undated) — The first team has punched its ticket to the Stanley Cup Final. The Golden Knights beat the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 to complete a four-game sweep. Vegas will play either the Hurricanes or Canadiens, who will face off in game four of the Eastern Conference Final. Carolina leads Montreal two games to one.

>>Penguins Agree To Deal With Evgeni Malkin

(Pittsburgh, PA) — A Penguins legend is coming back for another year. Pittsburgh announced Tuesday that veteran forward Evgeni Malkin is returning for his 21st season after signing a one-year deal worth 5.5-million-dollars. The 39-year-old missed 26 games in the regular season, but still finished with 19 goals and 61 points. Malkin is a three-time Stanley Cup champion with over 500 goals and 14-hundred points in his career.

>>NCAA Denies Texas Tech QB Sorsby’s Reinstatement

(Undated) — The NCAA will not be reinstating Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby’s eligibility for the 2026 season. The NCAA denied Sorsby’s request to be reinstated yesterday after the QB was found to have gambled on his own team and many other sports while in college. Texas Tech president Lawrence Schovanec stated in a letter to the Red Raiders’ community that the school planned to appeal the NCAA’s ruling. Sorsby’s lawsuit against the NCAA that seeks an injunction for his eligibilty for the upcoming season will now be in focus. He is set to be in court Monday in Lubbock County.

(Lake Forest, IL) — The Chicago Bears have their first full-team practices of 2026 from Halas Hall today. The Bears will hold the first of three voluntary OTA workouts this week. Chicago will also have practices tomorrow and on Friday before returning for another week of OTA’s in June.

(Indianapolis, IN) — Organized team activities are underway for the Colts. The voluntary spring practices allow for non-contact practices on the field with both rookies and veterans. Indianapolis will begin its mandatory minicamp on June 9th.

(San Francisco, CA) — The Fever tip off a quick two-game trip tomorrow. Indiana is visiting the Golden State Valkyries in San Francisco before taking on the Fire in Portland on Saturday. The Fever have been hot winning four of their last five games.

(Paris) — The action continues on the clay courts at the French Open. Top-seeded Jannik Sinner advanced with a three-set victory while fourth-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime had to battle through five sets to advance to the second round. Meanwhile, sixth-seeded Daniil Medvedev was upset by Adam Walton and ninth-seeded Alexander Bublik fell to Jan-Lennard Struff. The two Americans to advance on the day were 18-seed Learner Tien and Zachary Svajda. On the women’s side, top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka and fourth-seeded Coco Gauff cruised to straight set victories, while fifth-seeded American Jessica Pegula suffered an upset loss. Five other American women are also advancing to the second round, including 17-seed Iva Jovic. The second round begins early THIS morning at Roland Garros.
