The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that Interstate 57 will be closed overnight from June 1st through June 3rd to allow crews to set structural steel for the new Illinois 15 overpass. Closures will occur nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
During these hours, I-57 traffic will be detoured using entrance and exit ramps at the Mt. Vernon Interchange. Flaggers will be on site to help direct traffic and ensure safety for both motorists and construction workers.
