The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced a weekend closure of U.S. Route 45 in White County to allow for a culvert replacement project.
The closure will affect both directions of U.S. 45 approximately 0.57 miles north of the Illinois Route 141 interchange at Gossett Road. Work is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 5, weather permitting.
A posted detour will direct motorists around the construction area during the closure.
According to IDOT, the project is expected to be completed and the highway reopened by 6 a.m. on Monday, June 8.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, follow posted detour signs, and use caution when traveling near the work zone.
