HAMILTON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL ANNOUNCES NEW CHIEF NURSING OFFICER AND CHIEF CLINICAL OFFICER

Hamilton Memorial Hospital District Board of Directors and executive leadership team are pleased to announce the appointment of Joshua Tharp, MBA, BSN, MRMC, as the hospital’s new Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Clinical Officer (CNO/CCO). Tharp brings more than a decade of healthcare leadership experience, with a strong focus on patient care, quality improvement, staff development, and operational excellence.

“We are excited to welcome Joshua to Hamilton Memorial Hospital,” said Chief Executive Officer Justin Epperson. “His leadership experience, commitment to rural healthcare, and passion for quality patient care make him an excellent fit for our organization.”

Most recently, Tharp served as Director of Inpatient Rehabilitation for the SSM Rehabilitation Network in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, where he led nursing and therapy services, expanded programs, and improved operational performance. His previous leadership roles include positions at SIH Herrin Hospital, SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, and Heartland Regional Medical Center. Tharp earned a Master of Business Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. He also holds a certification in Medical Rehabilitation Management.

As CNO/CCO, Tharp will oversee nursing and clinical operations, with a focus on quality outcomes, patient safety, recruitment, and service line growth.
