
White County Coroner Chris Marsh has identified the man found deceased inside an SUV at the Road Ranger in Grayville as Mark Willoughby of Evansville, Indiana.
According to Marsh, the preliminary manner of death has been ruled a suicide.
Authorities discovered the body on Thursday, June 4th inside an Avis rental vehicle parked at the Road Ranger. Security footage showed the SUV arriving at the location on May 24th and remaining there for more than a week before the discovery was made.
Marsh said identification found in the vehicle matched information provided to the rental company. Due to evidence located inside the SUV, crime scene investigators were called to assist with the investigation.
The Grayville Police Department, White County Sheriff’s Department, and an Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
