NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH EXPERIENCES COMMUNICATIONS OUTAGE

By Mark Wells Jun 17, 2026 | 5:55 AM

As of Tuesday, the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Paducah, Kentucky, is experiencing significant communications issues. The outage is currently affecting radar data from KVWX, KPAH, and KHPX, as well as NOAA weather radio broadcasts.

According to NWS officials, the radars themselves remain operational; however, data from these radars is not being transmitted to the internet. This means that online radar imagery and related data are temporarily unavailable to the public and meteorologists relying on these feeds.

There is no estimated time of restoration at this moment. Residents and local agencies are advised to stay alert and seek alternative sources for weather updates and alerts until the issue is resolved.
