NORTON, DUCKWORTH ELECTED TO WAYNE-WHITE ELECTRIC BOARD

Members of Wayne-White Counties Electric Cooperative elected two new directors during the cooperative’s annual meeting last Friday evening in Wayne City.

In District 2, Blaine Norton of Fairfield defeated incumbent board member Vernon Gwaltney. Norton has been a Wayne-White member since 2003 and works in nuclear medicine. He holds a master’s degree in Imaging Science and Nuclear Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

In District 3, Ryan Duckworth won election over Nick McKinney. A farmer and part-owner of Duckworth and Smith Farms, Inc., Duckworth has been a cooperative member since 1997. Originally from White County, he has lived in southern Wayne County since 2012.

In District 6, David Hunsinger of Carmi was elected to his first full term after running unopposed. Hunsinger was appointed to the board in February 2024 to fill an unexpired term. He is a grain farmer and serves as manager of Oilwell Service at Eastern Services.

The elections were held as part of the cooperative’s annual meeting attended by members from across Wayne and White counties.
