Premium Guard Inc. is filling several positions as it works to restart operations at the former Champion Laboratories facility in Albion.
Current openings include Process Specialist positions paying $22.81 to $26.50 per hour and Team Leader positions paying $19.15 to $21.30 per hour. Additional opportunities are available for fabrication operators, setup workers, and maintenance personnel.
The manufacturing plant is beginning to come back to life after its former owner, First Brands Group, permanently closed the facility in February following bankruptcy proceedings. PGI later purchased Champion Laboratories’ intellectual property and patents for a reported $25 million.
The closure resulted in the loss of as many as 1,000 jobs in the Albion area. Industry observers note that returning the plant to full production may take time, as many former employees have either retired or found employment elsewhere since the shutdown.
