Residents in the Village of Sims are being advised that routine hydrant flushing will take place Thursday and Friday.
Village officials say the maintenance work may cause temporary drops in water pressure and occasional water discoloration. The discoloration is caused by sediment being stirred up during the flushing process and is generally considered safe.
Residents are encouraged to check their water for discoloration before doing laundry to avoid potential staining.
