The Fairfield Business and Professional Women Scholarship Foundation has awarded five $2,000 scholarships to Wayne County students for the 2026-27 academic year.
One scholarship was awarded to a graduating high school senior. Nykia Staton will attend Kaskaskia College, where she plans to study respiratory therapy.
The foundation also awarded four scholarships to mature women returning to college to further their education and career goals.
Recipients include Molly McNeil, who will attend Murray State University to pursue studies as a physician assistant; Andrea Walker, who will attend Olney Central College for medical coding; Bridgett Mourey, who will attend Southern Illinois University to study special education; and Olivia Smith, who will attend Southern Illinois University to pursue a degree in elementary education.
The Fairfield Business and Professional Women Scholarship Foundation annually supports local students and adult learners as they work toward educational and career advancement opportunities.
