The Wayne County Fairgrounds will be buzzing with activity as the annual Wayne County Fair returns with a full slate of 4-H and FFA events from Saturday through July 10th Organizers have released a detailed schedule packed with shows, contests, and family activities, welcoming the public to attend.
The festivities begin on Saturday with the 4-H Horse Show and the Alpaca/Llama Obstacle Course Show at 8 a.m. On Sunday, the 4-H General Project Show will take place at Floral Hall starting at 2 p.m. The popular Cat and Dog Show is set for Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the 4-H Barns, followed by fairground set up on the evening of June 30th.
FFA members and families can check in on Friday, July 3rd, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the 4-H Barns. The Section FFA Show kicks off Independence Day at 7 a.m., with 4-H families checking in from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Check-ins continue on Sunday, July 5th, alongside poultry testing from noon to 2 p.m., junior show registrations, and a mandatory livestock exhibitor meeting. All animals must be on the fairgrounds by 3 p.m., followed by weigh-ins for sheep, goats, beef, and swine.
The week continues with a variety of animal shows, including the 4-H and Junior Rabbit Show and Poultry Show on July 6th, and the Junior Goat Show that afternoon. Tuesday, July 7th, features the 4-H and Junior Beef Shows, and the 4-H Goat Show. Wednesday, July 8th, brings the 4-H and Junior Swine and Sheep Shows, with the release of non-sale and non-round robin animals in the evening.
Thursday, July 9th, offers a Dog and Llama/Alpaca Costume Contest at 8 a.m., and the Round Robin at 10 a.m. Non-sale and round robin animals, as well as general projects, will be released throughout the day. The 4-H Awards will be presented at 5 p.m., followed by the 4-H Foundation Auction at 5:30 p.m. All remaining animals will be released 30 minutes after the auction.
The 4-H portion of the fair wraps up on Friday, July 10th, with fairground clean up at 8 a.m. Junior Fair checks will be released after clean up is complete.
