The Fairfield Community High School Board of Education approved several financial, personnel and operational items during its Monday night meeting.

The board also approved the issuance of $3.545 million in General Obligation Refunding School Bonds to refinance existing district debt. Board President Matt Rush abstained from discussion and voting on the measure due to a conflict of interest.

Board members approved registration fees for the upcoming school year and appointed Matt Rush as the district’s delegate to the Joint Annual Conference.

In personnel matters, the board accepted the resignation of Family and Consumer Science teacher and FCCLA sponsor Elizabeth Zurliene, the retirement resignation of custodian Shelley West effective September 30th, and the resignation of social worker Rebecca August.

The board also approved the hiring of Roberta Biggs and Mariah Vaughan as Class of 2030 sponsors, Crystal Schrodt as an individual aide, Rick White as an individual aide, floating substitute and law enforcement instructor, and Sherry Wells as an individual aide.

No action was taken on the employment of a Family and Consumer Science teacher/FCCLA sponsor or an assistant cheer coach.
