The Wayne County Health Department is reminding families that back-to-school vaccinations are available now, with walk-ins welcome daily.
The health department offers same-day appointments or the option to schedule ahead. Vaccinations are available for both insured and uninsured children.
Officials note that students entering kindergarten, sixth grade, and 12th grade may need required immunizations before the start of the new school year.
No co-pay is collected at the time of the visit.
The Wayne County Health Department is located at 405 North Basin Road in Fairfield and is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
In addition to vaccinations, the department also provides tuberculosis testing and lead screenings.
