Harry L. Mayfield, 86, of Fairfield, passed away at 5:55 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at his home.
Harry worked in sales and post-frame buildings. He was born November 10, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Everett and Ruby (Shaw) Mayfield. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Virgil Ross. On August 8, 1959, Harry married Karen Bayler on August 8, 1959.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Mayfield of Fairfield; his sons, Jeff Mayfield of Fairfield and Doug (Angie) Mayfield of Elizabethtown, Illinois; his daughters, Carol Dreith of Snyder, Texas, and Brenda (Jeffrey) Large of Lockport, Illinois; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Linda (Roy) Michels of Maui, Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren, Rachel Parsley, Jenna Mayfield, and Joshua Mayfield.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice or the FMH Swingbed Program. Contributions will be accepted at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
