Patrick “Kelly” McCary, 66, of Fairfield, passed away at 2:04pm on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Kelly was born on April 28, 1960, in Mt. Carmel, IL, to Raymond McCary and Karen (Karr) McCary Cobb. On July 26, 2005, he married the love of his life, Janet (Taylor) McCary.
Kelly was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a military policeman. After being discharged from the military, he served as a policeman and security guard until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife Janet McCary and beloved dog Toby, of Fairfield, his mother Karen Cobb and Wayne Mack of Gray, LA, his brothers Michael (Vicky) McCary of Thibodaux, LA and Lonnie (Sulikah) McCary of Singapore, two brothers-in-law Charles (Cheryl) Taylor and Tommy Taylor and Gina Michaels both of Fairfield, two sisters-in-law Kathy Moats and Sue Taylor both of Fairfield along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Raymond McCary, his paternal grandparents Jack and Roberta McCary, his maternal grandparents Robert and Dorothy McKee, his in-laws Bill and Delma Taylor, his sister-in-law Donna Cullins, his brother-in-law David Taylor, and his beloved dog Jackson McCary.
Funeral services for Kelly McCary will be at 2pm on Tuesday, June 30th, at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial to follow in Shrewsbury Cemetery in Mill Shoals. Military rites will be provided by the Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Marion VA Medical Center and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
