>>Lions Release Terrion Arnold After Bail Granted

(Tampa, FL) — The Detroit Lions are releasing cornerback Terrion Arnold after he was granted bond in a felony kidnapping case. A Florida judge agreed to give Arnold a one-million-dollar-bond, despite prosecutors arguing he should be held in jail until his trial. He’s accused of being involved in an attack on two men who he thought stole his property from the AirBNB he rented in February. Arnold was a first round pick by the Lions in 2024 and only played eight games last year due to injury.

>>Report: Trail Blazers Acquire Ja Morant From Grizzlies

(Portland, OR) — The Trail Blazers are taking a chance on an explosive point guard. ESPN reports the team acquired Ja Morant from the Grizzlies on Monday in exchange for Jerami Grant and Kris Murray. Morant averaged 19-and-a-half points in just 20 games this past season. The second-overall pick in the 2019 draft has suited up for only 79 games over the last three years due to injuries or off-court issues.

>>NBA Free Agency Begins Tuesday

(Undated) — The NBA offseason is reaching another critical juncture. Free agency begins on Tuesday with the negotiation period. LeBron James once again takes center stage as the 41-year-old is unrestricted and could leave the Lakers. Shamet shot over 47 percent from three during the team’s title run.

>>Former NBA Players Indicted On Gambling Scheme

(Undated) — Former NBA players Malik Beasley and Ed Davis are among six defendants indicted Monday on charges related to an alleged sports gambling scheme. According to the indictment, Beasley lost millions of dollars gambling during his nine-year NBA career, and agreed to manipulate his stats ahead of at least four games while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2023-24 season. The bribes were often used to pay off debts he owed to Davis, who was his teammate with the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2020-21 season.
