James Jerod Healy, 43, of Norris City passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville, IN. He was born on April 22, 1983 in Welborn Hospital in Evansville, IN the son of Jerry & Paula (O’Neal) Healy. Jerod graduated from Norris City-Omaha-Enfield High School in 2001. He later graduated from Ivy Tech and ITT. Jerod previously worked at the Brownsville body shop, a coal mine, and he was an ironworker, but he could do almost anything. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in the barn with his dad.
Jerod is survived by his parents, Jerry and Paula Healy of Norris City; aunts and uncles, Harold (Janet) O’Neal of Norris City, Keith (Dianna) Healy of Enfield, Dave (Lola) Healy of Norris City, Patty (Rick) Tarrant, Joyce (Jerry) Garrett of Omaha; several cousins; special friends, Ronnie and Sharon Barger of Enfield, Larry and Donna Smithheart, and Matt Barner. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Venita O’Neal; paternal grandparents, Carroll and Novella Healy; aunt and uncle, Rita Knight and Gary O’Neal.
Funeral Services for James Jerod Healy, 43, of Norris City will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Ditney Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Ditney Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.at Ditney Ridge Baptist Church and on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 after 9:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jerod’s memory to Shriners Hospital for Children and will be accepted at the church or to 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821.
