Jordan Walker slugged a three-run homer and finished with four RBIs for St. Louis, which had a three-game winning streak come to an end. The Cards host the Brewers tonight.

In Mexico, England went down to 10-men and still held on for a 3-2 win over El Tri. Jude Bellingham netted a quick-fire brace and Harry Kane converted a penalty to advance.

(Seattle, WA) — The United States continues its World Cup run on Monday. The team battles Belgium in the Round of 16 from Seattle. The Stars and Stripes got great news from FIFA as Folarin Balogun had his suspension overturned and is now eligible to play in the pivotal match. The star forward received a red card in last week’s game against Bosnia, which usually carries an automatic suspension for the following game. The U.S. is trying to make its first quarterfinals appearance at the World Cup since 2002.

(Undated) — MLB has announced the starting lineups for this year’s MLB All-Star Game. The National League is headlined by Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, while three-time American League MVP Aaron Judge tops the American League’s lineup. Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout earned his 12th All-Star, the most of any starter in either league. Dodgers’ first baseman Freddie Freeman hit double-digits with his tenth career All-Star selection. The Cubs’ Pete Crow-Armstrong and Cardinals’ Jordan Walker made the National League reserves as outfielders. The 96th MLB All-Star Game will take place July 14th at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park.

(Undated) — The president of the NCAA is pushing back against prop betting at the collegiate level. During an interview with CBS’ “Face the Nation”, Charlie Baker said the practice of sports betting has changed the “character and the culture of fandom.” Prop betting involves gambling on a player or event that’s not necessarily tied to a game’s final score. Baker, who served as governor of Massachusetts from 2015 until 2023, said student athletes likely have people in their circle asking them to rig their performances for the sake of making a profit. He called it incredibly demoralizing for student athletes, adding that he believes they’re “starting to win this discussion and this debate with the public.”

(Silvis, IL) — Chris Gotterup is celebrating his fifth Tour victory after finishing atop the leaderboard at the John Deere Classic. Gotterup shot a 20 under par to win the tournament by one stroke. Max Homa finished in second place at 19 under par. Ben Kohles, Lee Hodges and Lucas Glover finished tied for third at 18 under. Mac Meissner, Doug Ghim and Jackson Suber were tied for sixth at 17 under par. Defending champion Brian Campbell failed to make the cut.

(Joliet, IL) — Chase Briscoe is taking home the checkered flag in the eero 400. The driver of the Number-19 car edged Christopher Bell to earn a victory at Chicagoland Speedway in the second race of NASCAR’s in-season challenge. Denny Hamlin, William Byron and Alex Bowman rounded out the top-five finishers. The Cup Series field heads to Georgia next Sunday for the Quaker State 400 at Echopark Speedway.

(London, UK) — A couple of stars shined on the sixth day at Wimbledon. Novak Djokovic set the men’s record for most match wins at Wimbledon after topping Roman Safiullin. Elsewhere in men’s singles, top seed Jannik Sinner and third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime also collected a victory. The other massive win came in women’s singles where Naomi Osaka upset top seed Aryna Sabalenka. Americans Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff also managed to advance to the quarterfinals. Meanwhile Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten won in men’s doubles, Su-Wei Hsieh and Wang Xinyu upset the fourth seed in women’s doubles, and Storm Hunter and Marc Polmans upset the top seed in mixed doubles.
