James LeRoy Boyd, 75, of Fairfield, passed peacefully into the presence of his Savior at 4:09 p.m. on Monday July 6, 2026.

Born on March 3, 1951, to Milford and Phyllis (Black) Boyd, he lived a life marked by faith, hard work, and a deep love for his family. On July 3, 1971, he married the love of his life, Pamela Jo Scott. Together they shared 55 years of marriage, building a home filled with love, devotion, and countless cherished memories.

A gifted master craftsman, Jim took great pride in his work. Following the closure of Boyd & Sons Construction, he established his own construction business, where his skill, integrity, and attention to detail earned the respect of those who knew him. The homes and buildings he helped create stand as lasting reminders of his talent and dedication.

Above all else, Jim loved Jesus Christ. His faith was the foundation of his life and guided the way he loved and served others. He faithfully attended the Roads Church for many years before worshipping and serving during his final days at New Beginnings Church. His quiet example of faith, kindness, and perseverance left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved him find comfort in the promise that he is now whole and at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela Boyd; Daughters Kelly (Marty) Slover, and Melanie (Jeremy) Hill; Grandchildren Colton (Mikayla) Wilkerson, Kylar (Bradley) Taylor, Peyton (Ishmael Colon) Slover, Ryan Slover, Brea (Nick) Blaylock, Mason Hill, Brayden Hill; Great Grandchildren Myla Wilkerson, Millie Wilkerson, Tatum Taylor, Brooks Taylor, Marlo Blaylock; Sisters Pamela (David) Buettner and Patti (Ron) Bowles, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Milford and Phyllis Boyd and his sister Linda Gelling.

A celebration of life will be held at 1p.m. on Thursday, July 9th at the New Beginnings Church in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the church. Memorial donations can be made to help with funeral expenses and will be accepted during the service or at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
