MEGAN VALENTINE MURDER TRIAL MOVED OUT OF EDWARDS COUNTY

On Tuesday, Chief Judge William Thurston of the 1st Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois, granted a request by Megan Valentine’s defense team to move her first-degree murder trial out of Edwards County. The request was granted because of too much pretrial publicity. The trial will now take place at Marion in Williamson County. Valentine, 46, has been charged with the November 5th, 2024, shooting death of her husband, Edwards County Circuit Judge Michael J. Valentine. She is currently housed at the Wayne County jail in Fairfield pending trial. Valentine’s case has not been placed on a trial docket at this time however, her next appearance has been set for September 23rd in Edwards County Circuit Court in Albion.
