On Thursday in Wayne County Circuit Court, Eagan C. Summers, 20, of Norris City, was sentenced in absentia to a term of 4 ½ years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Summers was originally sentenced to Probation on a Class 3 Felony charge of Theft back in 2024. In April of this year, the court found him to be in violation of his probation, leading to Thursday’s sentencing.
Also on Thursday, Mariana Sanchez-Esquivel, 39, of Fairfield, was placed on 12 months of Court Supervision on a Class A Misdemeanor charge of Unlawful Sale of Liquor to a Minor. Sanchez-Esquivel did not enter a guilty plea but did enter a stipulation to the facts supporting the charge and was ordered to pay fines and court costs totaling $789.50.
