ONE VEHICLE CRASH REPORTED EARLY TUESDAY MORNING

The Cisne Fire Department, Wayne County Ambulance Service, and Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning. At approximately 2:07 a.m., Mary J. Southern, 74, of Fairfield, driving a 2017 Nissan Rogue, was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 45 near County Road 1625N north of Geff, when her vehicle left the roadway on the east side of the road. The vehicle then traveled through a fence into a pasture, back through the fence a 2nd time, into a ditch embankment before it came to rest partially in the northbound lane. Southern was transported to Fairfield Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. Her vehicle sustained over $1,500 in damages and was towed from the scene.
