Unique Pharmaceutical Laboratories is voluntarily recalling several lots of its over-the-counter allergy medication after discovering the product may be contaminated with a different prescription medication.
According to a notice issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, four lots of cetirizine hydrochloride tablets may contain another medication that could cause life-threatening reactions in some consumers.
The recalled medication was distributed nationwide in 100-tablet bottles by Rising Pharma Holdings Inc.
At this time, no adverse events or injuries have been reported in connection with the recall.
Rising Pharma said it has notified affected customers by email and is arranging for the return of the recalled products.
Consumers who have the recalled medication should stop using it and follow the instructions provided by Rising Pharma or contact the company for return and refund information.
