The Edwards County Board will hold a public hearing next month to receive comments on proposed amendments to the county’s ordinance governing commercial solar energy facilities.
The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12th at 3 p.m. in the Edwards County Courthouse Boardroom, located at 50 E. Main St., Suite 9, Albion.
The proposed amendments would update regulations for commercial solar developments in the unincorporated areas of Edwards County. Topics under consideration include siting standards, application requirements, public hearing procedures, setbacks, fencing, vegetative screening, drainage, road use, decommissioning, financial assurance, building permits, fees, and other related requirements.
A copy of the proposed ordinance amendments will be available for public inspection at the Edwards County Clerk’s Office during regular business hours.
County officials encourage all interested residents to attend the public hearing and provide comments on the proposed changes.
