The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a 26-year-old rural Fairfield woman.
Sheriff Chris Otey said Maddison M. Borah was pronounced dead Thursday night, prompting an investigation by local authorities.
Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services responded to process the scene, and the Wayne County Coroner’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
An autopsy will be performed to help determine the cause of Borah’s death.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home.
Authorities have not released any additional information as the investigation continues.
