Groff Memorial Public Library in Grayville will welcome wildlife enthusiast Jeremy Schumacher for a special educational program, “Slime, Scale & Slither,” on Thursday, July 30th at 2pm. Schumacher serves as the Forester and Operations Manager for Ozark Koala Ecosystem Services and is an amateur herpetologist who has called southern Illinois home for the past 14 years. His passion for animals led him to a career in ecological restoration, and he has been searching for reptiles and amphibians since the age of 10. Through hands-on educational programs, Schumacher hopes to help people better understand these often-misunderstood creatures and overcome common fears surrounding them. The program will allow participants to learn about reptiles and amphibians while gaining a greater appreciation and respect for the important role they play in the environment.
