ILLINOIS SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION ELECTS LEADERSHIP, NAMES NEW DISTRICT DIRECTORS

The Illinois Soybean Association elected its executive leadership during its annual public meeting on July 29 in Champaign, while also announcing new district directors to represent soybean farmers across the state. Bryan Severs, a third-generation farmer from Vermilion County, was re-elected chairman of the association. Severs, whose family raises corn, soybeans and cattle, has served as ISA’s District 7 director since 2020 and previously held the positions of treasurer and Soybean Production Committee chairman. He also serves as chairman of the U.S. Identity Preserved Alliance and as a director with the American Soybean Association. Joining Severs on the executive committee are Brady Holst of Plymouth as vice chairman, Rob Shaffer of El Paso as treasurer, Scott Gaffner of Greenville as secretary, and Emily Lovelady of Tamaroa as assistant treasurer-secretary. The association also announced the election of new district directors during the June 2026 Illinois Soybean Board meeting. Tim Scates was elected to represent District 16, which includes Clay, Wayne, Richland, Edwards, Lawrence, Wabash and White counties. Trent Maxwell was elected as District 14 director, representing Clark, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham and Jasper counties. The Illinois Soybean Association represents soybean growers across the state through research, promotion and advocacy efforts aimed at strengthening the soybean industry.
