Wayne County Clerk Liz Ann Woodrow is reminding eligible voters to watch their mailboxes as Vote by Mail applications are now being mailed throughout the county.
Under Illinois law, county clerks are required to send Vote by Mail applications before each General Election to voters who have not enrolled in the permanent Vote by Mail program or officially opted out of receiving the applications.
When voters receive the application, they will have three options to choose from. After selecting an option, the form should be completed, signed, and returned either by mail or in person to the Wayne County Clerk’s Office as soon as possible.
Voters who no longer wish to receive future Vote by Mail applications may choose the Opt-Out option, sign the form, and return it. Clerk Woodrow noted that voters cannot be removed from the mailing list unless the completed opt-out form is returned.
